Dorothy Russell, 96, of Bolivar, passed from this life Thursday afternoon, March 3, 2022, at Christian Care Center in Bolivar.
The widow of J. B. Russell, who died on March 31, 2010, after 67 years of marriage, she worked in housekeeping at Western Mental Health Institute for 17 years and also had worked in the cafeteria in the Hardeman County School System. She was born December 9, 1925, in Hardeman County, daughter of the late Charlie Hugh Morris and Maggie Mae Clutts Morris and lived her whole life here. She married J. B. Russell on November 7, 1942 and together they raised 4 children. Mrs. Russell was a member of Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, John R. Russell (Annette), Ronnie Russell (Mary Ann) and Barry Russell (Marilyn), all of Bolivar; seven grandchildren, Hunter Earnest (Amy), Zeb Russell (Penny), Rebecca Doyle (Matt), Michelle Ray (Eric), Drew Russell, Cliff Russell (Jessica) and Pamela Weaver (Robert); and 13 great grandchildren, Kyle, Hannah and Hallie Earnest, Abigail & Jackson Russell, Avalynn Doyle, Kimmie Ray, Caitlin Hernandez, Jayna, Sadie, Caleb, Maggie and Chloe Grace Russell. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Russell in 2018; a brother, Charles Coffman Morris; three sisters, Jeanette Morris, Willie Mae Garrett and Bernice Napoli; and a grandson, J.J. Russell in 2004. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Parrans Chapel Baptist Church.
