Dorothy Lee Shaw

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Shaw, Waynesboro, TN departed this life on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 10 Months, 25 Days. She was born November 7, 1929 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late Elihue and Bertha Johnson Berry.

Mrs. Shaw was retired from Genesco Manufacturing and from Wayne County General Hospital as an LPN with 25 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, lifetime member Collinwood Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary Post #130, Red Hat Society, and a member of IBEW spouses organization. She loved and enjoyed working in her flower gardens and traveling around the USA and abroad, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and family.

She was married to James Lawrence Lee in 1947-1973.
She was united in marriage to Walter J. Shaw on February 14, 1988. Mr. Shaw preceded her in death on October 13, 2013.

She is survived by a son, James Lawrence. Lee II , wife Rebecca, of LaVergne, TN., daughters, Diana L. Lay, husband Johnny of Collinwood, TN, Janelle Bevis of Waynesboro, TN., grandchildren, Tara Rollins, husband Chad, Charity Godfrey, husband Shane, Ronnie McWilliams, wife Nic, James Lawrence Lee III , wife Ashley, Jonathan Lay, Anna Brooke Lee, husband Ryan, Derrick Bevis, wife Julia, Chris Bevis, Ken Shaw, wife Sandra, Stevie Shaw, wife Courtney, Rhonda Haynes, husband Rusty, Cindy Shaw, great grandchildren, Tyler Godfrey, Josie Godfrey, Hannah Rollins, Emily Rollins, Anderson Lee, Lillian Lee, Henry Lee, Wesley McWilliams, Jaylen, Jacob and Jannakay Bevis, Drew, Martha Kristen and Blaine Bevis, Zac Shaw, Dalton Haynes, Lucy Haynes, Hillary and Hamp Shaw, grt-grt-grandchild, Everly Godfrey.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Shaw was preceded in death by brothers, J. W. Berry and Ben Berry, sisters, Mable Rich, Clora Belle Rich, Flouce Clemmons, Clara Nell Duesterhoeft and Cleo Mitchell, stepson, Ronnie Shaw.


Services will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Bob Hargrove and Kevin Marston officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens at Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2017, 11:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood
