Services will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors,in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Pinckley officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 12, 5:00-9:00 pm and on Tuesday, January 13, 8:00 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Waynesboro,TN
Mrs. Skelton departed this life on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Wayne County Nurshing Home in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 7 Months, 22 Days. She was born May 19, 1923 in Waynesboro, Tennessee the daughter of the late Rubie Mathis and Evie Frazier Mathis Atwell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Skelton was preceded in death by her husband, Eunice Emmett Skelton, brother, Herbert Mathis.
Mrs. Skelton was a retired factory worker at Genesco . She was a member of the Church of Christ and Ladies Auxillary.
She was united in marriage to Eunice Emmett Skelton on January 12, 1946. Mr. Skelton preceded her in death on February 18, 1987.
She is survived by
two sons, Waymon (Doc) Skelton of Waynesboro, TN, Leo Skelton of Shelbyville, TN.
grandchildren; Anthony Skelton, Christy Skelton Powell, Gregory Skelton and Will Skelton
great grandchildren; Maya Powell and Gwen Williams
