Dorothy Armstrong Springer was born October 20, 1923 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late James A. and Myrtle Hill Armstrong. She was united in marriage to J.B. Springer who preceded her in death. Dot (as she was affectionately known) was a member of the Prescott Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Following her retirement from Bell South, she was active in tennis and bowling leagues, and was an avid fan of University of Memphis and White Station High School Girls basketball teams. She supported her church and participated in many volunteer activities. Mrs. Springer departed this life on February 12, 2007 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 3 Months, 23 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Springer Wright-Cook and her husband Robert of Kansas City, Missouri and Elaine Springer Francisco and her husband Dr. Peter Francisco of Tazewell, Virginia; grandson and his fiance, William J. Wright and Yolanda Calderon, and two great-granddaughters, Jordan and Kayla Smith of Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Kenneth Armstrong and his wife Mary Nell of Memphis, Tennessee; nephews and nieces, her church family and a host of dear friends each one dear to her.
