Dorothy L. Stricklin Toney

Dorothy Leada Stricklin Toney of Lawrenceburg, TN was born April 9, 1935 in Savannah, TN, the daughter of the late Clarence Jefferson and Ora Bell Williams Stricklin. She was united in marriage to Gordon Lawrence Toney on August 4, 1962 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2014.

Mrs. Toney was a retired employee of Genesco and was a member of the White's Creek Freewill Baptist Church, Savannah, Tennessee and she departed this life on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at her daughter's home in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 5 Months, 15 Days.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy McGuinness and husband, Patrick of Columbia, TN; brothers, Loyd Stricklin of Savannah, TN, Boyd Stricklin and wife, Paulette of Lawrenceburg, TN and Gloyd Stricklin and wife, Robbie of Savannah, TN; brother-in-law, Elvin Scott of Savannah, TN; sisters-in-law, Inez Stricklin of Savannah, TN and Torie Toney of Newport, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Toney was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Stricklin and sisters, Elvetta Stricklin and Edith Scott.

Services will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Gary Crosby officiating. Burial will follow in the White's Creek Cemetery, Savannah, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Monday, September 28, 2020 from 10:30 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Vernie Stricklin, Tim Allen, Darrel Stricklin, Stephen Stricklin, Mike Matlock and Douglas Stricklin.
