Dorothy Jean White departed this life on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 22 days. She was born in Hardin County, Tennessee, on September 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Jesse W. and Myrtle Harrison Franks.
On March 25, 1967, she was united in marriage to L.C. White. In 1969 they moved to Mobile, Alabama and made their home there. She was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church and a secretary for the Alabama Department of Transportation for 15 years. Dorothy loved to read, shopping, and visiting with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, L.C. White of Mobile, Alabama; sons, Robert Charles Cook of Savannah, Tennessee, Jimmy Lynn Cook of Saraland, Alabama, Timmy Woodney Cook of Saraland, Alabama, Mickey David White of Sims, Alabama, and Terry Glen White of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; brother, Roger Dale Franks of Adamsville, Alabama; sister, Mary Nell Roe of Sims, Alabama; 15 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a great grandson, Myles Chandler Cook; brother, Carroll Franks; and sisters, Betty Ruth Banks and Linda Joyce Hodge.
