Mr. Dorsey Jackson, age 89 of Bolivar, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Bolivar, TN.
Dorsey Ruport Jackson was born September 30, 1926, to the late Daniel Wesley Jackson and Patty Goff Jackson in Hardeman County, TN. On December 10, 1949, He Married Dixie O. Vickers who preceded him in death on December 19, 2009. Mr. Dorsey spent nine years working for Burton Shearin, and he worked for Harmon Manufacturing from 1963 to 1992. He was a member of the New Bethany Church of Christ. In World War 2, he served as 127th Quarter Master in the US Army. He lived in Hardeman County for all of his life.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his son, Mark Jackson(Connie) of Middleton; two grandchildren, Wesley Jackson and Mikayla Brooke Jackson; a step-grandchild, Keesha Lamberth; and one great-grandchild, Alyssa Faith Jackson.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Jackson; his parents, Daniel Wesley Jackson and Patty Goff Jackson; three sisters, Mary Nell Ehrett, Annie Mae Jackson, and Mildred Jennette Jackson; and a brother, Daniel Wesley Jackson, Jr.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
