Douglas Ray "Doug" Parson was born on July 11, 1942 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Hobert Lee and Lola McGee Parson.

Doug worked as a farmer and enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.

Douglas Ray "Doug" Parson departed this life on January 10, 2026 in Jackson, Tennessee, at the age of 83 years, 5 months, and 30 days.

He is survived by his sister, Brenda Counce; brothers, Lanny Joe Parson and Neil Parson and his wife Martha; brother in law, Raymond Marolt; sister in law, Anna Joyce Parson; nephews, Grant Parson, Larry Wayne Parson, Aaron Parson, and Chris Bobo; and nieces, Melissa Counce, Emily Parson Matlock, Allison Parson Rohenbeck, and Melody Marolt Ray.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Gene Parson; sister, Linda Marolt; and brother in law, Kenneth Counce.
