Douglas Farrell Raines

Douglas F. Raines was born September 8, 1942 in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of Roy and the late Ruth Walker Raines.



He was united in marriage to Judy Naylor on January 29, 1965.



Mr. Raines was a walk-on baseball and basketball player for Lambuth University in Jackson his freshman year. He was a storekeeper and Junior accountant for 37 years at Pickwick Electric in Selmer, Tennessee. He also worked for McNairy Farmer's Co-op prior to his employment with Pickwick Electric. He was a member of the West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennesse, where he served on various committees. Mr. Raines loved sports, serving as scorekeeper for the Adamsville Cardinals Basketball Team. He enjoyed hunting and raising cattle, and formerly served his state and nation in the Tennessee National Guard.



Mr. Raines departed this life on October 7, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 67 Years, 29 Days. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Judy (Naylor) Raines of Stantonville, TN; a daughter, Ginger (Raines) Johnson and husband Terry of Stantonville, TN; a son, Christopher Douglas Raines and wife Katharine of Trenton, TN; four grandchildren: Emilie Brooke Johnson, Walker Raines Johnson, William Douglas (Will) Raines, and Aidan Christopher Raines; his father, Roy Raines and wife Esther of Stantonville, TN; and a host of extended family and friends.
