Dwayne Williams

September 20, 1940 — August 23, 2022

Mr. Williams departed this life at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

He was born in Kenton, TN, the son of the late Ernest and Pearl Foreman Williams, was a graduate of Kenton High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He married the former Nancy L. Croom on June 5, 1960. Mrs. Williams passed away on November 2, 2014 following 54 years of marriage.

The Williams' moved to Memphis where they lived from 1960 - 1976 before moving to Hardeman County. Mr. Williams was in industrial chemical sales retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Bolivar Cumberland Presbyterian Church and grew up in the Morella Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Obion County.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, cards and working puzzles. He was a very sociable person who loved a good joke and working the concession stand at ball games while his children were in school. Through his various life experiences, Mr. Williams attained a wide range of knowledge on everything from chemistry to woodworking.

He is survived by two daughters, Vicki McKeen of Bolivar and Terri Claunch of Nashville; two sons, Barry (Cynthia) Williams of Lexington, SC and Cory (Peggy) Williams of Newbern, TN; seven grandchildren, Brooke, Andrew, and Alexander McKeen, Hunter and Nicholas Williams, Luke and Benjamin Williams; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Joshua, and Haley McKeen.

He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Heath Claunch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Dyersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Thrive Fund, 2280 Parr Avenue, Dyersburg, TN 38024.
