Earl L. Brown

Earl L. Brown was born on December 16, 1928 in the Dunn Community of Lawrence County to the late Mattie Ann and Willie Boone Brown. He departed this life on December 31, 2015 at the age of 87.

He graduated from Lawrence County High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Brown was united in marriage to Bertha Dillon Dunaway on July 8, 1961. They enjoyed many happy years of marriage until her death in 2014.

Mr. Brown is survived by two sons, David Ridley of Espanola, NM and his children, Michelle, Amber, Katie, Matt and Lee; son, Bob Brown and wife Tyugen of Fite, WA; niece, Martha Ann Sutherland of Lebanon, TN (Gary Wix); two nephews, Randy McClendon of Nashville, TN and Tommy McClendon and Joanna and their daughter Lauren of Smyrna, TN.

Mr. Brown was a member of First Baptist Church of Selmer, he was very grateful to all of the church family that assisted his wife and him during their illness. He loved his neighbors very much and appreciated the many acts of kindness they extended to Bertha and him. He also loved golf, Alabama football and gospel music!

A Graveside Service was held on January 3, 2016 at the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Selmer, Tennessee with Jerry Wright, Joey Johnson officiating.
