EARL CLAYTON
Henderson, TN: Willie Earl Clayton age 77, passed away Tuesday morning November 3, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1943 at Hickory Corner in Chester County, the son of the late Alvin Odell and Georgia Lavere Patterson Clayton. He went to school at Hickory Corner and married Patsy Crowe in 1962. They made their home at Hickory Corner. He worked at Quality Manufacturing, Chester Farmers Co-op and O’Brian Drywall. He then worked with security with the State of Tennessee DHS Department.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved the Church and enjoyed singing at Church.
He was a member of the Old Friendship Baptist Church.
Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife, Patsy Ann Crowe Clayton of Henderson; a son, Tim Clayton and wife Tammy of Henderson; four grandchildren, Nylee Jones, Haylee Clayton, Zack Clayton and Myrla Clayton Salters; three great grandchildren; five brothers, Frank Clayton, Dennis Clayton, Aves Clayton, Guy Ray Clayton and Paul Clayton all of Henderson; four sisters, Evelyn Weaver of Jackson, Mayrene Miller of Henderson, Phyllis Holmes of Henderson and Kathy Meek of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Neal Clayton in 1998; his parents, two brothers, Gerald and Geney Clayton and a sister, Hazel Clayton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, at Old Friendship Baptist Church with Iran Smith and Mike Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kirkland Cancer Center, 720 W. Forest Avenue, Jackson, TN 38301.
