Earlene Clayton was born September 16, 1924 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Zena Monroe and Dona McNatt Sanders.
She was united in marriage to Johnie Tillman Clayton. Mr. Clayton preceded her in death in October 1959.
Mrs. Clayton was a retired waitress and homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Springs Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to square dances, talking to her friends, and drinking cokes in a small bottle. One of her favorites things to do was visit old cemeteries and read the tombstones.
Mrs. Clayton departed this life on August 17, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 11 Months, 1 Day. She is survived by a daughter, Janice Nell Turner and husband Wayne of Selmer, TN; a son, Larry Monroe Clayton and wife Linda of Pickwick, TN; six grandchildren, John Clayton and wife Lorie, Jeff Clayton and wife Jennifer, Ginny (Clayton) Jones and husband Chris, Jason Turner and wife Crystal, Derrek Turner and wife Renee, Darren Turner and wife Amy; nine great grandchildren, Will Clayton, Ben Clayton, Megan Clayton, Joey Clayton, Caelan Clayton, Jaycee Jones, Brandt Turner, Preston Turner, Cameron Turner; three step great grandchildren, Justin, Garrett, and Conner Bradley.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by son, Johnie Tillman Clayton, Jr.; four sisters, Nellie Sanders, Icy Brooks, Elsie Brooks, Verlene Steele; five brothers, Murry Sanders, John T. Sanders, Wilbert Sanders, Dick Sanders, Vernon Sanders.
