Earlene Norton Smith

Earlene Norton Smith of Waynesboro, TN was born March 5, 1924 in Marshall County, TN, the daughter of the late Preston and Clara Mae Clayton Norton. Mrs. Smith was a retired clerical worker and a member of the First Christian Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee. She married Eunice C. Smith, Jr. and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1990.

Mrs. Smith departed this life Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 93 Years, 1 Month, 17 Days.

She is survived by a stepson, Sonny Smith of Bath Springs, TN; a stepdaughter, June Walker of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Christine Witcher and Rathanell Collins both of Waynesboro, TN; a brother, Robert Norton of Cleveland, MS; nephews, Gil Collins, Greenbrier, TN, Chet Norton, Cleveland, TN and Mark Norton, Bartlett, TN; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 1 pm at Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Roger C. Balentine officiating. Burial will follow with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Visitation will be from 11:30 am to 12 noon on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the funeral home.
