Earnest Glenn "Skippy" Parker, from Whiteville, TN passed away on March 17, 2026, at NHC Healthcare in Somerville. He was born February 25, 1947.
He grew up in Whiteville with his beloved parents, Frank and Jewell Moore, where he was a member of Whiteville Baptist Church. As he would say, he was a "top 10 graduate out of his class of 11" from Whiteville High School, Class of 1965.
He further pursued his training at the William R. Moore School of Welding. He later went on to be the owner of Parker Iron Works, where he was a master craftsman for over 50 years. Friends say they are reminded of him whenever they see the cross he built on the west side of Whiteville.
He was known for his humble and quick-witted spirit. He never missed an opportunity to help someone in need. He was a true friend who formed many lifelong friendships.
He is survived by two daughters, Renee Parker Miller and Holly Parker Rhea (Scott); five grandchildren: Cameron Miller, Nickolas Miller, Shelby Rhea Brown (Lyon), Rube Scott Rhea and Abby Rhea; 2 Great Granddaughters, Ann Rollins Brown and Evans Brown and soon to be Great Grandbaby #3.
A Celebration of Life Service to honor Skippy will be held at First Baptist Church of Whiteville on 4/19/26 at 2 PM, located at 203 East Main Street, Whiteville, TN.
The family requests that any memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Whiteville.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor to know him.
