Ed Sutton
was born in Winona, Mississippi on July 29, 1928 the son of the Benjamin Charles and Margaret Elizabeth Hurst Sutton.
On July 23, 1992 he was united in marriage JoAnn Shelby, who survives.
Mr. Sutton had lived in California for 30 years, Spokane Washington for 14 years, and Hardin County for 38 years. He had worked for Bay Electric in San Francisco, California and was a member of the San Francisco Electrical Workers IBEW Local #6 for 50 years. He was also a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. Mr. Sutton enjoyed buying and selling old cars, trading all kinds of merchandise, traveling and listening to gospel music. He had served in the US Army Air Force for 2 years.
Mr. Sutton departed this life on July 24, 2011 at the age of 82 years, 11 months, 25 days.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Sutton of Savannah, Tennessee; 2 sons, Edward Wayne Sutton of Napa, California and Stanley Charles Sutton and wife Serita of Munford, Tennessee; 3 daughters, Alyce Kristine Sutton and husband Tom of Vacaville, California, Cheri Suzanne Williams and husband Mike of Central Point, Oregon, Connie Rae Gordon and husband Gil of Hidden Valley Lake, California; 3 stepsons, Robert M. Welch of Hemet, California, Ted D. Welch of Huntingdon, Tennessee and Richard Welch of Hemet, California; 23 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Patricia (Patsy) Neill of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Billy Sutton, Bobby Sutton, and Howard Sutton; 3 sisters, Betty Lou Smith, Sarah Knapp, and Margaret Ann Clay; a great grandchild, Jonathan Edward Thompson; daughter-in-law, Suzi Sutton.
