Eddie L. Shaw was born on April 9, 1932, in Corinth, Mississippi, the son of the late Edwin Lafayette and Edna Mae Shultz Shaw. On June 3, 1956, he was united in marriage to Joanne Belle Yeager, who survives.
Mr. Shaw served his country in the United States Army. He lived in Shiloh, Tennessee for over twenty years and was a member of the Pickwick United Methodist Church. He graduated from Memphis State University in Memphis, Tennessee and was a self employed entrepreneur, who was co owner of Adamsville Sand and Gravel and Ray Ed Corporation for 21 years, prior to that he owned and operated Ed Shaw Restaurant and Gift Shop. Mr. Shaw served as Transportation Commissioner for State Tennessee from 1974 to 1978. He loved to fish, cook and to have "Fish Frys" at his home.
Mr. Shaw departed this life on August 31, 2014, at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 22 days.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, Joanne, he is survived by a son, Eddie L. Shaw, II, and his wife, Cheryl and a daughter, Rita Shaw Maxedon, and her husband, Danny, all of Counce, Tennessee; a granddaughter, Holly F. Bates and her husband, Robley; a sister-in-law, Gale Shaw of Shiloh, Tennessee; and two nieces, Debbie Smith, and her husband, Randy and Sandy Shaw.
In addition of his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Joe Shaw and a nephew, Bobby Joe Shaw, Jr.
