EDITH MAE JACKSON BYRDwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on January 13, 1919 the daughter of the late Thomas Franklin and Dillie Letoria Carney Jackson. On September 3, 1941 she was united in marriage to Albert Harrison Byrd, who preceded his wife in death on June 11, 1976.Mrs. Byrd was a retired factory worker. She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Byrd was a wonderful cook and she loved to have a house full of people on Christmas Day. Mrs. Byrd loved to garden, tend to her flowers, sew and quilt.She departed this life on October 3, 2009 at Savannah Healthcare in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 20 days.Mrs. Byrd is survived by 4 special cousins, Paula Byrd, Pam Wilbanks, Cilla Greene and Amy Byrd one nephew, Earnest Byrd, Jr.2 nieces, Patricia and Ruthone sister-in-law, Jessie Byrdand her special neighbors, Ruby Smith, Tom and Becky Smith and Jane SmithOther than her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Everett Jackson and Richard Jackson and one sister.
