EDITH FRYE DALLAS

Finger, TN: Edith Irene Frye Dallas, age 92, died April 19, 2017 at the Henderson Health and Rehabilitation in Henderson, TN.

She was born January 12, 1925 in McNairy County near Finger, the daughter of the late Alfred Dewey and Lela Elizabeth Rouse Frye. She graduated high school at Finger in 1942. She married Kermit Dallas in 1945 and they moved to Memphis in 1951. She worked in cosmetic retail sales at Katz, Skaggs and Osco retiring in 1982. Mr. Dallas died in 2007 and she moved back to Finger in 2011. She has a beloved cat named Baby. She was a member of the Covenant Life Baptist Church in Memphis.

Mrs. Dallas is survived by four children; Ronald Dallas (Terri) of Memphis, Kenneth Dallas (Pamela) of Arlington, Carol Dallas of Benton, AR and Melinda Dallas of Finger, eleven grandchildren, thirty nine great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur Frye of Lexington, KY and Willie Frye of Pinson; three sisters, Reva Melton of Crump, Mary Godsey of Memphis and Linda Faulkner of Finger.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Dallas in 1967 her husband Kermit Dallas in 2007, and three sisters, Bonnie Frye, Frances Nelson and Estelle Russell.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Shackelford – Casey Chapel in Henderson, TN with Kenny Dallas and Kenneth Dallas officiating. Burial will follow at Old Friendship Cemetery near Finger.

The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel beginning at 12:00 Noon on Saturday.
