Mrs. Edith Ray Jacobs, age 90 of Bolivar, departed this life Wednesday morning, August 15, 2012 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Mrs. Jacobs was born in Benton County, Mississippi January 4, 1922 to the late James and Elsie Dixon Ray. On December 26, 1944, she was united in marriage to Frank Scott Jacobs who preceded her in death January 27, 1994. She worked at Kilgore for over 25 years prior to retirement and was a member of Dixie Hills Baptist Church in Bolivar. She also attended Parrans Chapel Baptist Church in her early years.
Survivors include a son, James Albert Jacobs of Trenton; two sisters, Annie Mae Henderson of Ripley, Mississippi and Katherine Shannon of Delevan, Illinois; and sixteen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Remell Jacobs, and two brothers, Roy Ray and James Robert Ray.
