Mrs. Edna Clarice Umberger Gaugh, age 92 of Collierville, Tennessee, passed from this life Wednesday afternoon, October 19, 2016 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.
Mrs. Gaugh was born Thursday, September 25, 1924 in Falkner, Mississippi to the late Oliver P. and Evie Edna Mills Hobson. On Friday, November 29, 1968, she was united in marriage to Mr. Wiley Gaugh, who survives. A native of Falkner, she lived in Hardeman County for 25 years prior to moving to Collierville in 1993.
She worked for Troxel in Moscow, Tennessee for 15 years prior to retirement. She also worked at Kilgore in Toone, Tennessee for two years. She was a member of Saulsbury Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, flowers and working in her garden.
In addition to her husband of nearly 48 years, survivors include her daughters, Betty Gail Umberger Cox and husband James of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and Lillie Mae Wooten and husband Calvin of Memphis; sons, Oliver Bryant Umberger and wife Gail of Cordova, and Ellis Parnell "Dude" Umberger and wife Sandra of Bolivar; sister, Wanda Southern and husband James of Elijay, Georgia; grandchildren, Scott Evans (Dawn), Cheryl Beckett (Danny), Carol Laney (Brad), Jennifer Poole (Jason), Rebecca Hesselgrave, Abby Savage (Matt), Christy Fields (Jason), Stacey Rico (Shannon), and John Wooten (Evie); and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Umberger; brothers, Dale Hobson and Gene Hobson; and two half-sisters, Vadine Haskins and Pauline Vickers.
