Edward Davis

Services for Edward Davis, age 83, of Clifton will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro with Harold Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Worley Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County in charge of arrangements.Mr. Davis, a native of Wayne County, was born April 5, 1927 a son of the late George and Bessie Davis. Mr. Davis died Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a son, Michael Edward Davis; a daughter, Janice Faye Davis Fuhrman; and a grandchild, Kimberly Reeves. Mr. Davis, a U.S. Army veteran, formerly worked at Genesco and more recently operated a store and restaurant. He attended Old Union Community Church.He is survived by his wife Rilla Pope Davis of Clifton, TN; two daughters, Patricia Staggs of Clifton, TN, and Karen Dodson of Green Hill, AL; 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildrenand a sister, Hazel Morris of Clifton, TN
