Edwin L. Ivy
Henderson: Edwin Lacey Ivy, age 71, died Friday evening, October 20, 2017 at Henderson Healthcare Center.
Mr. Ivy was born in Osceola, AR and grew up in Chester County the son of the late Brodie Manley and Arlie Georgia Tucker Ivy. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1964 and went to Nashville Auto and Diesel College and studied auto mechanics and welding. He farmed, did mechanic work, logged, and had also done some construction work. He worked for a period of time at Beecham’s Auto Shop at Montezuma and as a part-time mail carrier at Pinson. He enjoyed hunting and trapping, building race cars and dirt track racing. He learned building dirt track cars from Joel Clayton.
He is survived by two brothers; Thomas Ivy and Frank Ivy both of Henderson. He was preceded in death by a sister Eva Maxine Cooper.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will be at Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday.
