Elijah Jack Edwards of Waynesboro, TN was born October 1, 1983 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the son of Ricky Steven and Donna Jo West Edwards. He was united in marriage to Maegan Amara Barnett on September 30, 2006.
Elijah was an electrical worker with Edwards and Edwards Electrical. He was a member of the Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee and had lived in Columbia, TN at one time.
Elijah departed this life on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 26 Years, 10 Months, 9 Days from injuries sustained in a motorcycle and car accident.
He is survived by his wife, Maegan Barnett Edwards of Waynesboro, TN; his parents, Rick and Donna West Edwards of Summertown, TN; sisters, Brandi Edwards Burns and husband, Eric and Riley Edwards Reese and husband, Jeremy, all of Columbia, TN; his grandparents, Leamon and Betty Edwards of Waynesboro, TN and Ernest and Pauline West of Collinwood, TN; his parents-in-law, Victor and Kathy Barnett; his brother-in-law, Joel Barnett; his grandparents-in-law, Allen and Celia Barnett and Ila Cole all of Waynesboro, TN; nieces and nephews, Haleigh, Madison, and Ethan Reese, and Kendall and Keegan Burns; and several cousins.
Services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Green River Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Cal Hampton and Greg Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, August 12, 2010 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Friday, August 13, 2010 from 9 am until service time at Green River Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Shaner Gobbell, Brandon Staggs, Lee Williams, Joe West, Tanner West Josh Nance, Matthew Phillips, Jay Alred. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Mathis, Craig Gatlin, Ben Maples, Hunter Davis, Caleb Berry, Joel Barnett, Chris Yeiser, Seth Dixon, Jeremy Reese, Eric Burns, Briar Edwards, Jeremy Davis, Reggis Hinson, Daniel Skelton.
