Elizabeth "Betsy" Siler, 91, of Silerton, passed away Thursday, November 19 at Maplewood HealthCare in Jackson.
The wife of Rush W. Siler, who survives, she was a special education teacher at Toone Elementary School and St. Mary's Catholic School in Jackson. A native of Memphis, she was born September 18, 1918 to the late Maness Simpson Mowery and Ethel Emiliene Fleet Mowery and lived in Silerton since 1976. She was an active member of Bolivar First United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed playing bridge and making quilts.
In addition to her husband, whom she married August 21, 1948, she is survived by a daughter and her husband, Betsy Bolden and Richard of Lexington; son and his wife, Van Siler and Dolores of Rye, NY; and four grandchildren, Keaton Murley, Tucker, Scott, and Matt Siler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alystine Vales.
