Ella Butler

Mrs. Ella Gladys Davis Butler departed this life on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Harbert Hills Nursing Home in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 88 Years, 5 Months, 25 Days. She was born July 18, 1926 in South Bend, IN the daughter of the late Walter Leroy and Gladys Emma Horton Davis. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by daughter, Linda Ruefenacht Stooksberry; a step-son, Virgil Butler; sisters, Bertha Wilson and Edna Borton.

She was united in marriage to George Roscoe Butler on October 8, 1955. Mr. Butler preceded her in death on March 23, 2008.

Mrs. Butler was a homemaker and retired from Southbend Medical Foundation, Southbend, IN. where she worked in the medical records .

She is survived by ; sons, Alvin Keith Ruefenacht of Soddy Daisey, TN, Walter Leroy Butler of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Georgia Ann (Butler) Franks of Olive Hill, TN and Brenda Joyce (Butler) Horton of Lutts, TN; grandchildren; Keith Ruefenacht; Aaron Ruefenacht; Greg Stooksberry; Michael Stooksberry; Robert Shannon Horton; Jacquelin Ray Hicks; Virgie Vogel; Evel Butler ; George Butler; Donna Hendrix; Christy Baxter; Abbie Butler and Wesley Butler; many beloved great grandchildren; sister; Meryle Gillis of Sevierville, TN


Services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood, Tennessee, with James T. Turnbow officiating. Burial will follow in Cromwell Crossroads , Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements.

Visiation will be on Wednesday, January 14th. 9:30 am until service time @ Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN
