Miss Coffman passed away Thursday night, February 10, 2011 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
A native of Whiteville, she was born November 23, 1916 to the late Dr. J.L. Coffman and Bettie Mai Blalock Coffman. She went to elementary and high school in Whiteville, lived in New York for 40 years and spent the last years of her life in Memphis. She trained in Memphis and was employed as a registered nurse at NYU Hospital for 40 years. She enjoyed blues and jazz music and the New York art scene. Miss Coffman was a member of Whiteville First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister, Frances Coffman Haralson of Houston, TX; a nephew, Richard Frank Haralson of Houston, TX; a niece, Lisa H. Andreason and her husband, Mark of Sugar Land, TX; a great nephew, Scot P. Andreason; and a great niece, Sierra I. Andreason.
