Elsie Emma Brown Atkins

Elsie Emma Brown Atkins of Florence, AL was born November 14, 1932 in Hardin Co., TN, the daughter of the late Anderson Ethridge and Jessie Lee Nolen Brown. Mrs. Atkins was a retired Nurse's Aid and a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.

Mrs. Atkins departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Genesis Healthcare in Florence, Alabama at the age of 83 Years, 10 Months, 17 Days.

She is survived by sons, Ethridge Wade Atkins of Florence, AL, Frank Dana (Buck) Rumbaugh of Iron City, TN, Joe Rumbaugh of MI; a daughter, Billie Ruth Skandaliaris of Mobile, AL; a sister, Mavis Brown Bevis and husband, Robert of Cypress Inn, TN; nieces and nephews; close friend, Judy Darby of Florence, AL.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Atkins was preceded in death by daughter, Arlene Staggs Benefield; a brother, Gene Brown; a sister, Dorothy Shepard.

A Graveside Service will be Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 1 pm at McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with John E. Banks officiating and Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County officiating. Pallbearers will be Branstin Bonds, Curtis Linville, Terry Roberson, Cecil Holt, Charles Miller and Jeff Allen.

Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to service time at the graveside.
