Elsie Jean Riley

Elsie Jean Mathis Riley, age 75, of Plumerville, AR, formerly of Waynesboro, TN, passed away Sunday, January 2, 2011. She was born in the Topsy Community on January 23, 1935, a daughter of the late Pete and Esther Parthina Skelton Mathis. Elsie Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Buster" Riley and two children, Cathy Marie and Charles Bryant Riley. She was a devoted member of the Eastern Star and a former Girl Scout leader. Elsie enjoyed traveling, flowers, gardening, sewing and spending time with her family.



Elsie Riley is survived by, her fiance', Dr. Arthur B. Jones, Jr of Plumerville, AK;

son, Larry Riley and wife, Diane of Smyrna, TN; daughters, Susan Riley of Maumelle, AR and Cynthia Parker of Plumerville, AR; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.



Services will be Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Joseph Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitehead Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing.



Pallbearers will be Dr. Arthur Jones, Jeff Minatra, Jeremy Parker, Jason Riley, Matthew Tilley, and Keith Tilley.



Visitation will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
