ELVIN (RAY) AUSTIN
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on February 25, 1948 the son of the late Clarence and Rachel Ellen Qualls Austin.
Ray retired from Bevis Sawmill. He also had worked for a service station while living in Fairview, Tennessee. Ray was a former resident of Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Savannah Foursquare Church. In his spare time Ray enjoyed playing guitar, singing, buck dancing, fishing, playing horseshoes and golfing. Ray was a very good pool player and has many trophies to show for it. He loved telling jokes and making everyone laugh. Ray was always known as a sharp dresser.
He departed this life on May 18, 2017 in Jackson, Tennesse at the age of 69 years, 2 months and 23 days.
Ray is survived by his children, Lisa Gail Cummings, Johnny Ray Austin and Tammy Renay Austin, all of Savannah, Tennessee.

three great grandchildren, Nevaeh Renay Hearn, Kellee Nicole Hearn and Laini Marie Fay Hearn
four sisters, Elizabeth Lambert of Savannah, Tennessee, Sue Martin of Sardis, Tennessee, Eva Cotner of Counce, Tennessee and Deborah Morey of Sardis, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Hubbert, Junior, Wilbern, Curtis, Robert and Willie Austin and two sisters, Bernice Bretherick and Wilma Lambert.
