Elvin Butler Elvin Butler, 85 years old, passed away March 15, 2012 at his residence in Florence. He was born March 1, 1927 in Lauderdale County, AL to Millard and Bessie Butler.
Mr. Butler was a hard worker and had a great love for his family. He was a veteran and was retired from TVA and North Alabama Sand and Gravel. He lived his entire life in Lauderdale County and was a member of Community Freewill Baptist Church.
He was the last surviving of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brother, Levoid and Bobby Butler, four sisters, Ida Olive, Grace Edwards, Eva Mae Roberson, and Nettie Butler, and two grandsons, Jeremy and Justin Butler.
He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Irma Ruth Balentine Butler; two sons, Dennis and wife, Sheila and Mark and wife, Leonna; two daughters,Donna Butler and Debbie Borden and husband, Jeff; four grandchildren, Chad Butler and wife, Rachael, Kristie Dodd, Kassie Sparks and husband, Eric, and Karen Mehrotra and husband, Saurabh. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and numberous nieces and nephews.
Services will be tomorrow, Saturday, at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home, Collinwood, TN with Bro. Emerald Bailey and Bro. Malcolm Scott officiating. Burial will be in Railroad Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors directing. Visitation will be today from 6 pm to 9 pm and tomorrow from noon until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chad, Stan, and Russ Butler, Michael Roberson, and Robbie and Gene Balentine.
