Henderson, TN: Elwanda Maxine Barrett Steelman, age 73 passed away March 24, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Tulare, CA and grew up in Lindsey, CA the daughter of the late Henry Wilson and Ruth Martin Barrett. She graduated from high school in Lindsey, CA in 1955 and married Billy Joe Steelman in 1956. They made their home in Washington State and numerous other places where Mr. Steelman followed the construction business. They made their home in Henderson since 1998. She was a member of the Henderson Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Joe Steelman of Henderson; 2 sons, Curtis Steelman and wife Cindy of St. Louis, MO and Clayton Steelman and wife Cindy of Henderson and a daughter, Brenda Gee and husband Junior of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Amanda Cothrin, Lindsay Taylor, Ashley Steelman, Kyle Steelman, Joshua Steelman, Will “Cisco†Berry, Matthew Kovarik and Jonathan Kovarik; great grandchildren, Aden Cothrin, Brice Cothrin, Braylee Cothrin, Emma Cothrin, Peyton Taylor, Chase Taylor and Addison Taylor; a sister, Dolores Guinn of Farmersville, CA and a brother, Henry Barrett of Belton, TX.
She was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Wilson Steelman in 1978, a daughter, Linda Sue Berry in 2008 and a brother, Bobby Barrett.
