EMMA LOIS HAGGARD BAIN
was born on June 21, 1927, to Jesse and Vera Cook Haggard. Although born in Hardin County and living there for most of her life, she, her parents, and siblings lived in Clinton, Oklahoma during her youth.
Lois married Edward Bain on May 28, 1955, he preceded her in death on May 31, 2009. Together they had two sons, Boyce Allen (Helen) and Larry (Pamela) and three grandsons: Chad Bain, Brad Bain (Samantha) and Adam (Sylvia) Bain. Her great grandchildren include, Christian and Chloe Bain, Shelby and Haley Weeks, and Clayton and Lainey Bain. Although her sister, Frances Haggard, and brother, Bob Haggard, have passed on, she is survived by her brother Tom (Annie) and sister-in-law Mary Lois, all of Savannah, Tennessee.
Lois was an excellent cook, especially noted for her chocolate pies and yeast rolls. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted friend. She served her church in many capacities, as a teacher and member of the women's group, and never failed to prepare cakes and pies for any fundraiser. Lois was an excellent seamstress, tatting her own lace for her homemade pillowcases to be given to newlyweds or sold at the church bazaars...she also enjoyed quilting. Lois will be best remembered as a kind spirit, whose sparkling blue eyes looked on everyone with love.
