Emma McCoy was born on April 25, 1935, the daughter of the late Jay and Mazie D. Franks Shull. On July 25, 1983, she was united in marriage to Carl McCoy, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1998. Emma departed this life on November 7, 2017, at the age of 82 years, 6 months, and 13 days.
After living in Savannah, Tennessee, Emma moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where she attended North Memphis Church of the Nazerene and worked as a teacher at the Nazerene Day Care for 15 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading books of all kinds, cooking, and exercising.
Emma is survived by her son, Terry Russom of Memphis, Tennessee and her sisters, Ruby Baugus and Margaret White, both of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her husband and parents, Emma was preceded in death by her brother, Robert James Shull, and her sisters, Juanita Dowdy, Christine White, and Betty Fluty.
