Emmett Lee Hockaday

Emmett Hockaday was born October 15, 1937 in Selmer, TN, the son of the late Bonna and Mallie Vera Garrett Hockaday. He departed this life on August 15, 2016 at his home at the age of 78 Years, 10 Months. He was united in marriage to Jerilynn Hurst on September 2, 1960.
Mr. Hockaday was a very active member of Bethesda Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder for many years. During his lifetime, he was a roofer, a builder, a farmer, a fireman, and a business owner.
He is survived by his wife Jerilynn Hockaday of Selmer. He is also survived by three sisters and three brothers, James Hockaday, Rose Alanzo, Faye Derryberry, John R. Hockaday, William Hockaday, and SusieHuckabee as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hockaday was preceded in death by a brother George Hockaday.
Services will be private.
Memorials may be made to Bethesda Presbyterian Church or donor's choice.
