Era Rebecca Creecy

Era Rebecca McWilliams Creecy , Lavergne, TN was born October 9, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late John Taylor and Sallie Boyd McWilliams. She married Hobert Lewis Creecy on December 18, 1954 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2006. Mrs. Creecy retired after 45 years at Genesco, Waynesboro, TN, then worked 10 years at Zayers and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Creecy departed this life, January 15, 2017 at her home at the age of 82 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days.

Survivors include, a son, Wayne Creecy and wife, Janice of Lavergne, TN; daughters, Ann Pope and husband, Bill of Waynesboro, TN, Jerri Oakley and husband, Doug of Lavergne, TN; 5 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jasper McWilliams of Cookeville, TN, Dexter McWilliams of Lawrenceburg, TN, David McWilliams of Nolensville, TN; sisters, Effie Brown of Waynesboro, TN, Gail Martin of Tulsa, OK; nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Creecy was preceded in death by brothers, James and John McWilliams and a great-grandchild, Julian Roberson.

Services will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Laverne Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 5 pm to 8 pm and Friday, January 20, 2017 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
