Erie Baldwin Hurst

Erie Baldwin Hurst of Selmer, TN departed this life on November 6, 2016 in Corinth, MS at the age of 87 Years, 9 Months, 22 Days. She was born January 15, 1929 in McNairy County the daughter of the late Jimmie Lee (Jim) and Anna Elizabeth (Daisy) Carper Baldwin. She was united in marriage to Arnold Hurst on September 24, 1949. Mr. Hurst preceded her in death on November 17, 1995.

Mrs. Hurst was a retired Cosmetologist and active business owner in rental property management. For many years she, alongside her husband, operated various successful businesses. She was a former member of the Lions Club, Red Hat Society, Senior Citizens, and the Order of The Eastern Star. Mrs. Hurst enjoyed gardening, cooking, shopping, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with family. She also loved to make new friends and was truly a blessing to all that knew her. Regardless of age, she was the epitome of "youth" from her vibrant personality and beauty to her active lifestyle.

She is survived by four daughters, Teresa Hurst and husband Mike Roberts of Memphis, TN, Linda Leedom of Horn Lake, MS, Leslie Hurst and husband Will Wintermute of Selmer, TN, Amy McLemore and husband Joe McLemore of Adamsville, TN; three grandchildren, Melanie Wright, Jennifer Leedom, Chase McLemore; four great grandchildren, Ashleigh Wright, Brittany Wright, Gary Leedom, Tyler Wright and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Hurst was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Leedom and a great grandchild, Kelsey Leedom. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
