Ernest Fred Rich

Ernest Fred Rich of Collinwood, TN was born April 30, 1926 in Wayne Co., TN, the son of the late Chester Clyde and Virgie Hazel Whitten Rich. He was united in marriage to Earlene Stooksberry on December 8, 1946 and she died on April 14, 1989. He married Lois Moore Holt on August 5, 1990 and she died on February 22, 2008.
Mr. Rich was retired from Monarch Tile. He was a member of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, the Muscle Shoals Freewill Baptist Association, the American Legion, and had been a minister since 1959. He served in the United States Army during WW II.
Mr. Rich departed this life on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 85 Years, 8 Months, 11 Days following an automobile accident near Collinwood.
He is survived by son, Larry Fred Rich and wife, Donna of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Dean Holt and husband, Billy of Cypress Inn, TN, Delia Roberson and husband, Danny of Iron City, TN; grandchildren, Stacey Holt and wife, Angie, Sheryl Luna and husband, Steve, Sharlon Hensley and husband, Keith, Stephen Rich and wife, Beth, Bruce Roberson and wife, Cindy, Jason Rich and wife, Stacey; great-grandchildren, Andrea Holt, Nycole Wright and husband, Jeremy, Stetson Luna, Madison Luna, Kelsie Hensley, Chloe Holt, Kedron Hensley, Sarah Roberson, McKenzie Rich, Gunner Rich, Harrison Rich, Bennett Rich; great-great-grandchildren, Clara West, Mylee Wright; brother, Everett Rich of Iron City, TN; sister, Pauline Holt and husband, Silas of Collinwood, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives and parents, Mr. Rich was preceded in death by brothers, Glen Rich, Howard Rich, and an unnamed infant brother; a sister, Betty Rich.
Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tennessee, with Edward Burbank, Everett Rich, and Stacey Holt officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Stacey Holt, Steve Luna, Keith Hensley, Jason Rich, Stephen Rich, and Bruce Roberson with Kedron Hensley, Gunner Rich, and Stetson Luna serving as honorary pallbearers.
