Ernest Clarence Stone Jr. of Waynesboro, TN was born March 17, 1935 in Booneville, AR, the son of the late Ernest Clarence Stone, Sr. and Odessa Williams Stone. He was united in marriage to Virginia Griggs on November 23, 1961.
Mr. Stone was a retired factory worker of Lincoln Brass and a DRM, LLC, a member of the Waynesboro Church of God in Waynesboro, Tennessee, and a United States Army veteran.
Mr. Stone departed this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 9 Months, 4 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Griggs Stone of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Doyle Dewayne Stone of Boynton, FL, Troy Gene Stone of Orlando, FL; daughter, Karen Marie Stone Casteel of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Casey Neill, Chandis Baker, Colton Casteel; great-grandchildren, Dakota Baker, Noah Casteel, Brentson Neill.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was preceded in death by a brother, Issac Glenn Stone; sisters, Violet Dailey and Bernice Cartwright.
Services will Saturday, December 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Tommy Burk and Tony Morgan officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Wilford Griggs, Allen Griggs, Charles Griggs, Marlin Griggs, Joed Baker, and Eric Sweetman.
