Essie Hammons

Essie Hammons, 85 of Saulsbury, died Friday, August 7, 2009 in Jackson.The widow of Lee Roy Hammons, she was born in McNairy County November 14, 1923 to the late Homer and Virda Robinson Sweat. She was a member of the Skyline Church of Christ in Jackson.She leaves as her survivors seven daughters, Doris Mott (Huey) of Middleton, Jo Ann Frazier (Larry) of Saulsbury, Joyce Cumbo (Pat) of Chespeake, VA, Evelyn Ghibaudy of Plantation, FL, Kathryn Arwood (Steve) of Nesbet, MS, Martha McDonald (Tommy) of Jackson, and Sandra Duke (Mike) of Union City; three sons, Harold Hammons (Martie) of Burbank, IL, Jimmy Hammons (Katrina) of Saulsbury, and Michael Hammons (Laura) of Memphis; 21 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
