Estell Mae Ballard

Mrs. Ballard passed away Tuesday afternoon at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.



The widow of Otis E. Ballard, who died on March 10, 2006 after almost 69 years of marriage, she was retired as a technician with Western Mental Health Institute, having worked there 30 years. She was born March 5, 1922 in Cash, Arkansas, daughter of the late Milburn and Jennie Thomas Collins and lived most of her life here. She attended Silerton Methodist Church.



Survivors include a daughter, Jean Ballard of Bolivar; a son, Charles William Ballard of Winnfield, La.; a sister, Peggy Fuller of Theodore, Ala. and grandchildren, Vicki Mahan, Beverly Edwards and Darryl Massey; 9 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Collins; a sister, Tommy Bloom and a granddaughter, Sherry Wiggins.
