Ethel Farris Goodmanwas born in Shelby County, Tennessee on March 12, 1912 the daughter of the late Truman Commodore and Ida Mae McRae Farris.On April 28, 1935 she was united in marriage to James Wilbur Goodman, who preceded her in death on August 14, 1994.Mrs. Goodman had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 6 years and Citizens Bank as an Administrative Assistant for 27 years before retiring. She had lived in Savannah, Tennessee since 1952, previously having lived in Pickwick Dam, Tennessee. Mrs. Goodman was a member of the Savannah First United Methodist Church, Savannah Garden Club, several Bridge Clubs, and various other clubs. She had been a Cub Scout leader and Secretary of the Year in 1970. She was a great cook and enjoyed arranging flowers. She was a great mother, her life was made around her family.Mrs. Goodman departed this life on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the age of 97 years, 5 months, 26 days.Mrs. Goodman is survived by a son, Jim Goodman and wife Karen of Eads, Tennessee; a daughter, Camille Judy and husband Jack of Longwood, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Glona Goodman of Counce, Tennessee; a sister, Annie Murray of Jackson, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Goodman was preceded in death by a son, John David Goodman and a sister, Pearl Hurst.
