Etta Elisabeth Harrison, 91, of Memphis, passed away Saturday night, April 2, 2011, at Hardin County General Hospital in Savannah.
The widow of Cary Roberts Harrison, who died February 27, 1960, she worked as a receptionist at the Doctor’s Exchange for 10 years. Mrs. Harrison was born April 12, 1919, in Memphis to the late Homer Boyd Sandridge, Sr. and Annie Lena Brown Sandridge and lived all of her life in Memphis until the last 4 years she lived in Savannah. She loved to dance, play the mandolin and violin and sang in the opera in high school. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Oakhaven Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Jean Hendrix and Bill of Bolivar; a son and his wife, Robert Wayne Harrison and Barbara of Maryville; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Homer Boyd Sandridge, Jr. and William Cheatham Sandridge.
