Our precious daddy, Eugene (Gene) Daniel, age 81 of Iron City, TN has gone to heaven to be with the Lord. Services are scheduled for Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Collinwood with Eural (Junior) Daniel officiating. Burial following in Butler Grove Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers are Russell Daniel, Jason Daniel, Matthew Daniel, Shannon Hinton, Kenny Reaves, Donnie Joe Hanback, Cory Andrews, and Shane Risner; hononary pallbearers are great grandsons, Cole Risner, Carter Hinton, Jordan Ernest, Elijah Daniel, and the late Mason Reaves.
A native of Wayne County, he was born April 5, 1930 a son of the late Harvey and Clara Brewer Daniel. Mr. Daniel died Friday, February 17, 2012 at Scott National Healthcare in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Jackson Daniel; great-grandson, Mason Reaves; four brothers, Willie Daniel, Donnie Daniel, Jeff Daniel, and Ronald Daniel; and three sistesr, Sara Frances Martin, Lina Butler, and Ruby Thompson. Mr. Daniel was retired from Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company and was saved, a child of God, and attended the Butler Grove Freewill Baptist Church. A avid outdoorsman and family man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and hunting arrowheads but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by three daughters, Wanda Daniel of Florence, AL, Elizabeth Melson and Myra Daniel both of Collinwood, TN; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-gandchildren; a brother, Bobby Daniel of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Shirley Wright of Collinwood, TN; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Mr. Daniel will be sadly missed and was dearly loved by his family.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
