Services for Mr. Manley will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the Shackelford Chapel in Bolivar. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery near Williston, TN. Rev. Tim Bryant will officiate the service with Stevie Gene Manley, Phillip Waco Manley, Jr., Wayne Manley, R. J. Manley, Dustin Duck and Steven Bryant serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Manley passed away Monday morning at Regional Hospital of Jackson.
A native of Cherokee, AL, he was the son of the late Calvin Oscar and Sally B. Williams Manley. He worked as a farmer and for Troxel Corporation near Moscow, TN for 16 years. A hard worker his entire life, he spent his later years as an automotive mechanic. Mr. Manley grew up in the Moscow-LaGrange area of Fayette County and resided near Grand Junction for the last 40 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed quail hunting, fishing, gardening and as a young man, spent much time trapping on the Wolf River.
He was the widower of Diane Jamerson Manley who passed away July 14, 2006. He is survived by 3 sons, Steve Gene (Terry) Manley of Saulsbury, TN, Phillip Waco (Sherry) Manley of Bolivar and Paul Jeffrey Manley of Grand Junction; 3 daughters, JoAnn (Herschell) Smith of Live Oak, FL, Lorrie (Richard Davis) Stamey of Memphis and Jackie (Timmy) Morrow of Moscow; a sister, Anne Manley of Selmer; a brother, James (Mildred) Manley of Selmer; 12 grandchildren, Crystal, Stevie, Casey, Anthony, Lucy, Beth, Phillip, Adam, Cari, Dustin, Jason and Ethan, and 11 great-grandchildren, R. J., Destiny, Seth, Sissy, Michael, Payton, Hannah, Paige, Miley, Indie and Everett.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Welch; and four brothers, Robert, Joe and Fred Manley and an infant brother who died at birth.
Memorials should be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
