Eva Burkeen Farris

Eva Burkeen Farris was born June 8, 1933 in Bolivar, TN the daughter of the late Scott and Nancy Herriman Burkeen.

She was united in marriage to Billy Farris on July 11, 1975. Mr. Farris preceded her in death on August 15, 2002.

Mrs. Farris was always ready for an adventure and often taking her grandchildren along with her. Many trips were taken to Opryland, Liberty Land, Memphis Zoo, and Shiloh Park. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and treasured each time they came for a visit. One of her great enjoyments was going dancing with her husband and bringing along her grandchildren. They taught the grandchildren how to dance - the two step and waltz.

Mrs. Farris was a member at Hornsby Baptist Church, Ruritan Club and an Alderman. She enjoyed making ceramics, quilting and traveling with her husband, Billy.

Mrs. Farris departed this life on September 15, 2020 in Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 3 Months, 7 Days. She is survived by
a daughter, Nancy Coghlan and husband Gerry of Preston, MS; two sons, Keith Barnes and wife Martha of De Kalb, MS, Randy Barnes and wife Angie of De Kalb, MS; a brother, Berchil Burkeen of Michigan; eight grandchildren, Denise Tubby of Philadelphia, MS, Sara West and husband Brodie of Columbus, MS, Danny Barnes and wife Erin of Starkville, MS, Kristin Blackburn and husband Curt of Meridian, MS, Kelli Powell and husband Cody of Las Vegas, NV, Scotty Barnes and wife Erin of De Kalb, MS, Kevin Barefield of De Kalb, MS, Kasey Leeper of De Kalb, MS; 22 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and a host nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Farris was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Barnes; a sister, Elsie Burkeen; three brothers, Hugh Vernon Farris, J.C. Farris, and George Burkeen.
