Evelyn Sue Brewer

Services for Evelyn Sue Bratton Brewer, age 80, of Cypress Inn, TN will be Monday, March 5, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood with Buck Howard and Chad Balentine officiating. Burial will follow in Collinwood Memorial Gardens with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.



Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 PM and Monday, March 5, 2012 from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.



Pallbearers are Randy Bratton, Sonny Bratton, Hank Brewer, Randy Brewer, Charles Martin, and Greg Brewer.



Mrs. Brewer was born November 2, 1931 in Lutts, TN the daughter of the late Robert and Nancy Stricklin Bratton. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by son in law, Terry Whitten; three brothers, Marshall, Walter, and Claude Bratton; five sisters, Margaret Johnson, Etta Johnson, Clara Eaton, Gladys Eaton, and Myrtle Copeland. Mrs. Brewer died Friday, March 2, 2012 at her home in Cypress Inn at the age of 80 Years and 4 Months. She was married to Dexter Paul Brewer April 19, 1952. Mrs. Brewer, a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, was a homemaker, however for several years she owned and managed Brewers Bi-Rite Supermarket in Collinwood.



She is survived by her husband Dexter Paul Brewer of Cypress Inn, TN; two daughters, Connie Whitten Lay and husband Billy of Collinwood, TN and Kathy Daniel and husband James of Cypress Inn, TN; three grandchildren, Tim Whitten and wife Kim, Chris Whitten and wife Alicia, and Shelia Daniel;

4 step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren, Blake Whitten, David Whitten, and Daniel Whitten; several nieces, newphews, and a host of friends.
