Evelyn Horton Wilson of Iron City, TN was born May 26, 1933 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Vergie Jewel Morris Horton. She was united in marriage to Edward Boone Wilson on April 28, 1950. Mrs. Wilson was a retired factory worker, a member of the Whitten Crossroads Methodist Church in Iron City, Tennessee, and a member of United Methodist Women.



Mrs. Wilson departed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama at the age of 78 Years, 5 Months, 6 Days.



She is survived by her husband, Edward Boone Wilson; daughters, Rhonda Smith and husband, Rickey and Jodi Morris and husband, Richard all of Iron City, TN; a son, Gary Wilson of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jake Smith, Natalie Gambrell and husband, Dustin, Brad Wilson and wife, Stephanie, Bethany Morris, Jason Wilson, and wife Codi; great-grandchildren, Brady, Chastity, Damien, and Dominic Wilson; a brother, Jerry Wade Horton and wife, Gail of Camden, TN; sisters, Winnie Faye Nowlin of New Johnsonville, TN, Sally Kate McWilliams and husband, James Quentin of New Johnsonville, TN, Emanola Holt and husband, Thomas of Cypress Inn, TN, Helen Callahan of Akron, OK; nieces and nephews.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by brothers, J. R., Charles Horton, and Wayland Horton.



Services will be Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with John Allen Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Everett Rich, Vernon Horton, Jody Cypert, David Nowlin, Dustin Gambrell, and Tommy Beckham.
