Fay McCann

Fay Plunk McCann was born April 2, 1919 in Finger, Tennessee the daughter of the late Uless Carroll and Laura Frances Floyd Plunk.She was united in marriage to Johnny Burkeens in 1939. He preceded her death on December 11th, 1941. She married Dell McCann in 1946 and he preceded her in death on May 20th, 1999.Mrs. McCann was a housewife for most of her life but in her younger years she did work at local factories. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, her flower and vegetable gardens.Mrs. McCann departed this life on September 4, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 91 Years, 5 Months, 2 Days. She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Payne and husband Jimmy of Bethel Springs, TN, Vera Reed and husband David of Selmer, TN, Amy Gilchrist and husband Ricky of Stantonville, TN; a son, Leonard McCann and wife Jane of Selmer, TN; nine grandchildren, Wayne Payne and wife Sherri, Teresa Hames and husband John, Kathy Wilkins and husband Randy, Angela Childers and husband Terry, Kenneth Stanfield and wife Mary, Jody Gilchrist and wife Brandy, Jason Gilchrist and wife Jamie, Bobby Holmes and wife Paige, Jamie Holmes; 16 Great Grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCann was preceded in death by one son, Rex Adell McCann; two sisters, Willie Gage, Lydia Holland; two brothers, Calvin Plunk, Robert Plunk.
