FAYE MARTIN
Enville, TN: Cora Faye Virginia Evans Martin age 87 passed away January 8, 2018 at the McNairy County Health Care Center.
She was born June 13, 1930 in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Donnie Guy Evans and Zera Irene Dallas Evans. She went to school in McNairy County and married James Martin in 1947. They made their home at Enville and in the McNairy area. She worked thirty-seven years at Garan Manufacturing in Adamsville and then six years at Leapwood Manufacturing in Leapwood. She loved to quilt, crochet and cook her famous tea cakes. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Enville. Mr. Martin passed away in 1979.
Mrs. Martin is survived by a daughter, Linda Phillips (Tommy) of Enville and a son, Jimmy Martin (Debbie) of Olive Branch, MS; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Davis of Lakeland, TN and a daughter-in-law, Tammie Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Larry Martin in 2016; two brothers, Elwood Evans and Cecil Ray Evans and two sisters, Opal Canaday and Arleene Woodard.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Bro. Bill Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in McNairy County.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday.
